Privacy Policy

CalContractorPrep is run by Plumbline Apps, an individual developer. This page explains what data we collect and why. We collect as little as we can, and we do not sell your data.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you buy or log in. We use it to give you access and to send login links and important messages about your purchase.
• Your study activity, such as your answers, mock exam scores, and error reports. We use it to show your progress and to fix errors in our questions.
• Order details from our payment processor: the amount, the date, the order status, and the ad campaign that brought you to the site (see below). We never see or store your full card number.

Cookies

• Login cookie. When you log in, we set a cookie that keeps you logged in. It is needed for the site to work.
• Attribution cookie (attr). If you arrive from an ad or a link with campaign tags, we store those tags in a first-party cookie named attr for 30 days. It holds only the UTM tags (source, medium, campaign, term) and the Google Ads click ID (gclid). It is set once, on your first tagged visit. If you buy, we save these tags with your order so we know which ads work.

Services we use

• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It is cookieless: it does not set cookies or track you across sites. The site is also delivered through Cloudflare's network.
• Google Ads. After you buy, the purchase-success page loads the Google Ads conversion tag. It tells Google Ads that an ad led to a purchase. Google may use cookies for this; see Google's privacy policy.
• Creem is our merchant of record and payment processor. Creem collects your payment details and billing information and handles sales tax. Creem's privacy policy applies to that data.
• Resend sends our login emails. It receives your email address and the message we send.

Where your data is stored

Your account, study activity and order records are stored in a database on our own server. We keep them while you have access and for a reasonable time after, for example to handle refunds and keep business records. Then we delete them.

Your choices

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site still works without the attr cookie.
• You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data. Email [email protected].
